Muscle Car Era coming to a Hault?
Could this really be the end of the muscle car era? The last decade the muscle car has come back in full force, but has President Bush finally put an end to it with the new energy bill he has just signed. The new bill forces every car company to make better fuel economy cars. Could this be due to the raising of gas prices and the loss of jobs to outsourcing. I mean come on, does President Bush actually think this will help out the average American? Greedy people like him are the people who enforced a raise in gas prices in the first place, remember he did own a gas company for many years and has connections to the oil industry.
I’ve been telling my friends and other people that there will be a big change for the future because of the oil prices and pollution. A lot of them shook there head and just didn’t want to believe the truth I was speaking. It happened back in the 80s when they passed new emission rules. It really affected the average American who loved to buy an American muscle car.
Now you never know, the big three could come out with a diesel or an electric muscle car. But for it to happen right away, I extremely doubt it. There is going to be a relax period just like back in the 80s. I even witnessed a part of it last year out on Woodward. Automotive enthusiasts used to cruise that street on a daily basis, it’s truly not like that anymore. It’s really sad!
So the question still remains, is there a place in the future for the American muscle car? We can only hope!
