Mustang Catback Exhaust
There are many catbacks out there that are great for your mustang which can make it very hard to decide which one to go with. I think sound is the major aspect, because most performance exhausts flow rather well and the performance comparison gains are very minimal. The best way to do your research is to find a car video site like Youtube or Streetfire and do a search on mustang exhausts. There are many enthusiasts that make videos of fly byes and start ups of their own mustangs. Thus, making it a lot easier to choose which exhaust you would like to go with.
My favorite will always be the bassani catback, the company really brings out the V8 drone of the 32 valve 4.6. The catback fits up rather nicely to your headers or exhaust manifolds. It comes in stainless steel so you don’t have to worry about rust too much. The mufflers tuck in nicely other than some mustang catbacks and the tips are nicely polished giving the back of your mustang a sharp look.
There are many catbacks to do searches on. Here’s a list of some…
- Pypes
- Bassani
- Flowmaster
- Magnaflow
- GMS
- BBK
- SLP
- Borla
- Corsa
- FlowTech
- Ford Racing
- Hooker
- JBA
- MAC
- MBRP
- MRT
- Steeda
- Surpreme Performance
All are pretty good brands. You do have another choice like going to a good exhaust shop and having them fab up your own custom catback and choosing any kind of muffler. But that can come back and hurt you on the dyno, because some exhaust shops don’t do mandrel bend. So I would recommend using one of those companies from the list. I ended up getting this done on my TA, but that’s only because at the time there was only single pipe catbacks and that can hold back a little performance from your engine. For the Ford Mustang, that’s not the case, all Mustang aftermarket catbacks come true dual.
